Why double glaze my doors too?

Replacing your existing doors with double glazed doors is just as important as your windows. Why? For a number of reasons… double glazing is hard wearing, no painting required every year as it’s salt resistant (if you live close to the beach), it is fire resistant up to a BAL 29 rating, they have a perimeter seal which is not only thermally efficient but also stops dust blowing in so keeps your house clean and most importantly they offer multi-point locking giving you peace of mind. uPVC doors also reduce noise by up to 44db. So as you can see, double glazing isn’t for windows.

We fabricate double glazed doors from our steel reinforced uPVC the same as windows.

The three most popular styles of double glazed doors include traditional hinged, traditional sliding and tilt and slide.

Traditional Hinged

These types of doors are great for entry and laundry doors. They have multi-point locking systems and offer security unlike any other modern door. Their perimeter weather seal and compression door locks make the traditional hinge option unbeatable for thermal and acoustic performance. They can also be customised in a French door arrangement, where both doors open, for maximum entry and exit space.

Traditional Sliding

This style of door functions similarly to traditional sliding doors, however its weather and corrosion resistance is unparalleled. Traditional sliding doors are perfect for Australian conditions and the triple locking sash system offers high security, with the convenience of a sliding door and an integrated Invisi Gard security screen

Tilt and Slide

Tilt and slide doors are a unique concept in Australia. They have been popular in Europe for many years, imagine an aeroplane door and you will be close! This is a very practical sliding door as it has a unique function of tilting like a window in the closed position, which allows for ventilation while staying secure. They can be single or double doors and all tracks are on the inside of the door frame, which protects them from outdoor conditions and extreme weather – making them perfect for apartment living in coastal regions where salt spray can corrode and jam other types of metal doors.
