  1. What is double glazing?
    Double glazing refers to a sealed glass unit comprising of 2 sheets of glass separated by a spacer bar around the outside of the glass. The spacer bar creates a nominated millimeter air gap between the glass panes, it's this air gap which creates the insulation break between the inside and outside of the window.

  2. Why should I choose uPVC frames vs regular windows?
    uPVC frames have been used in the building industry for over 40 years. It is the ideal choice for noise reduction, temperature control and saving energy not to mention maintenance free.

  3. Does double glazing help with noise?
    Yes, double glazing will help to reduce both traffic and other external noises. It can reduce noise by up to 44 decibels, which works out to be a 75% reduction. We install acoustic glass units made locally to promote optimal noise reduction.

  4. Does double glazing help maintain temperature?
    Yes, double glazing is designed to maintain temperature. By having double glazing, air is trapped between the two sheets which protects between the hot air inside and the cold air outside in winter and the opposite in summer. Double glazing was made mandatory 20 years ago in the UK to cope with the cold.

  5. Is uPVC environmentally friendly?
    Yes, uPVC windows won’t impact the environment once they are fitted. They are also 100% recyclable.

  6. Do your windows come with flyscreens?
    Yes, all of our windows do come with a locally made flyscreen.

  7. Does the uPVC discolour?
    No, our uPVC windows are fully blended for Australian conditions so won’t discolour or fade.

  8. What colours are available?
    Customers can choose from white, cream, golden oak, ceylon black, anthracite and signal grey.

  9. Do you offer standard or custom sizes?
    We make all of our uPVC windows and doors to custom fit.

  10. Do you install as well?
    Yes, all prices include supply and install.

  11. What are your lead times?
    Our lead time for larger installation jobs is 4-5 months however we can do smaller jobs and supply only much faster. We do our best to install your windows and doors as soon as we can.

  12. Do you give free quotes?
    Yes, please contact us for a free quote, all we need are approximate sizes and some photos of your existing windows.

  13. How does double glazing perform with salt water?
    We recommend double glazed windows and doors for houses close to the ocean. All of our uPVC windows and doors are salt water resistant. As long as hinges and locks are kept clean they will perform beautifully.

  14. How often does double glazing need to be cleaned?
    You should clean your windows or doors every 12 months. If you live by the ocean, we recommend every 3-6 months.

  15. What sort of upkeep is required?
    uPVC will need very little maintenance. We don’t use any glues or paints that risk degrading, so a quick clean every 12 months is all it needs. Use WD40 or grease on the hardware and soapy water on the uPVC.

  16. How long does double glazing last?
    You can expect uPVC windows and doors to last roughly 30 years. Quality materials and fitting standards will encourage long-lasting windows and doors.

  17. Can I install double glazing myself?
    Unless you have experience installing uPVC windows or doors we recommend leaving it to us – we’re highly qualified and experienced.

  18. Does it come with a warranty?
    Yes, our uPVC doors and windows come with a 10 year warranty.

  19. What if I have a heritage looking house?
    Adelaide is known for its heritage houses. If you have this style of house, we can make your windows look like all sash case.

  20. Where do you make your windows?
    We custom make all of our uPVC windows and doors at our factory in Adelaide, South Australia.
